The Sonoma County Planning Commission will consider updates to the Vacation Rental Ordinance at a March 17, 2022 hearing.
The proposed changes involve the current inland VR Ordinance.
The Coastal Zone is not in most of the changes.
The updates create a new VR LICENSE Permit Program, performance standards, enforcement strategies, and permanent caps on vacation rentals in areas disproportionately impacted by VRs.
Not all of these limitations will apply to COASTAL ZONE VRs. It looks like only the new VR License Program applies to coastal VR homes. We will know more after the 3/17 Planning Commission hearing.
