The Board of Supervisors will hear a proposed amendment to Chapter 26C of the Sonoma County Municipal Code to align vacation rental regulations in the Coastal Zone with inland regulations tentatively scheduled for September 26, 2023.
The hearing is to amend the municipal code to align vacation rental regulations in the Coastal Zone with inland VR regulations.

Presently the Coastal Zone VR owners must register to pay Transient Occupancy Tax. This will change in the coming months as the county revises the inland VR regulations, and obtains certification from the CA Coastal Commission to apply these VR regulations to Coastal Zone vacation rentals.
Existing VR owners (prior to a selected date) may have different requirements than what is required of new VR applicants in the Coastal Zone.
