The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors met on 4/4/23 to consider adoption of the Local Coastal Program(LCP).
FUTURE MEETINGS: 4/24/2023 – The Board of Supervisors will meet to consider X-Zone BANS and CAPS on Vacation Rental (Short-term Rental) homes in the Unincorporated County area (not the Coastal Zone).
SONOMA COUNTY – 2023 VR REGULATION PROPOSAL:
VACATION RENTAL LICENSE PROGRAM: The county planning department (Permit Sonoma) will develop LCP Amendments to create a VR Program in the Coastal Zone. It will include land use standards for structures, occupancy, and parking. There will be a requirement for an annually renewable VR License for operation. Licenses will be limited to natural persons, one license per individual. This is to be developed later in 2023-24.
TBD: COASTAL COMMISSION meeting to certify Sonoma County’s LCP – estimated to be at their November 2023 meeting.
