As of this date the Sonoma County planning department estimates the Vacation Rental Ordinance requirements for the Coastal Zone will be completed in “Fall 2023”.

It will become clearer over the months what changes will be made and what provisions apply to VRs in the Coastal Zone. PRMD has stated they prefer having a single ordinance apply to the Coastal Zone and elsewhere in the county. The final ordinance will need approval from the CA Coastal Commission.
